iPhones save photos as HEIC. FyDark opens a picture with your browser's own decoder: Safari on a Mac, iPhone or iPad reads HEIC, so there you can save it as JPG, free. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can't open HEIC, so FyDark can't either.

Three steps, and the settings.
Every setting below is one the studio's panel really has.
- 1Open FyDark in Safari and drop the HEIC photo in
- 2Open Convert and choose JPEG

What it does, and what it doesn't.

It depends on the browser
FyDark doesn't bundle a HEIC decoder. If your browser can't show HEIC, the studio says it couldn't read the file.

Server batches don't either
Cloud Pro batches don't take HEIC today.

On the iPhone itself
Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible makes the camera save JPG in the first place.

Metadata goes
The JPG is written fresh, without the photo's location and camera data.

Why won't my HEIC open in Chrome?
Chrome can't decode HEIC, and FyDark uses the browser's decoder. Open FyDark in Safari, or set the iPhone to save JPG.
Is the photo uploaded?
No — conversion happens in your browser.
